I know this thread comes up every couple of years, but I don't do archives ! I'm looking for 100 or 110"unleaded" fuel in the Raleigh area. I had a source in the Mebane area ,but was leaded and it messed with my O2 sensor. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Chris

used to be Chris, the handy hugo's at maynard and kildaire sold 100 octane. they remodeled and replaced pumps i think, so can't say for sure anymore. might be worth a phone call.

We've been blending Torco's Accelerator with 93 Octane for a theoretical 100 in the rally car for the last year and it's been running like a champ. It's a lot more convenient than finding/transporting race gas to our events.

We don't carry around the large containers. The last time I got some I bought a 6 pack of 32oz cans for $96 and we blend one can with 10 gallons (usually 5 gallons at a time so that we're not filling the tank each time). That works out at about $1.60 per gallon over the cost of Premium. Logistically much simpler than traditional race gas for us. None of the events we do are track events and while many of the rallies do have a mobile vendor for race gas they usually require that you buy it 55 gallons at a time.

For us it works very well.

Steve,
I'll call over and see. Worst case scenario is buying it at the track, but easier than mixing octane booster, Simon , I have problems getting the right ratio on gin vs tonic.
Thanks all...Chris

that's easy Chris. ice, gin, pass the tonic over the top of the glass. squeeze a lime wedge and there you go. 8)

Chris,

If you're looking for 100 Octane in the VIR area, the first gas station in Semora had 100 Octane 2 years ago. I bet they still have it. They were considerably cheaper than the track too. Now with the track selling at "street" prices...

It's good to know there is a good source on the way to VIR. they just seem so money-hungry ,I'll drive out of my way ,if I have to, to not give them more of my money.
Unfortunately ,I'm heading the other way next week...Regional at Kershaw, so someplace on the way out South would be nice.
thanks for the pointers.I'm still checking on it
Steve ,I'll let you tend bar at the next event!!
Later,
Chris

Well I hope you find better prices up there Chris. We're down at Roebling. On site it is $9/gal. You pick. 100, 110, 114. Same price. I laughed my butt off when I saw that. My car doesn't know enough difference between 93 and 100 octane to spend that much...

Well Chris now for the bad news---- The station in Semora is higher than VIR. They're charging 6.00/gal for 100 octane VIR is charging 5.70/gal
normally the station in Semora is cheaper, but not this week.
