You know I have never listened for the fuel pump. I jumped to the conclusion when it briefly fired and then just spun, it was the belt. I know it is getting towards the end of its life. Sounds just like the Miata when I broken belts on those.

But the belt is still on and spinning the cam. But I might as well replace it, the water pump and the tensioner. If it still does not fire up, then it is probably electrical. I can not complain about the car. For $2500 it is a damn nice little car. The 2.2L does have a hard time getting out of its own way though :-)

I'm with Karl. I'm voting main fuel relay. Although they usually don't pop up when it isn't hot outside. Similar to the CRX as he mentioned it is under the dash around were knees are. You can even clean the contacts and you should be good to go. Best part is it's free.

I guess I missed the part about losing one of your dogs Jim, I'm very sorry to hear about that. I know you're very attached to them.

What year Accord are we talking about?

You're driving the wrong 2.2L Honda. I've got one too, and it's plenty fast

My 2.0L Honda was turning 2:14's on VIR Full on Saturday and isn't anywhere near handling as good as it can. :D

And both of our Hondas start properly!

J/K Jim, of course.

224 laps out of first, not bad at all.

What killed me was Drew telling me that they finished the race with oil pressure in the twenties and a passenger side floorpan full of the rest of the oil.

Richard, it's pretty much like Frank said. To my eye anyway, there's no way to just look at the timing belt on any Honda I've ever owned and determine how much longer it will last. Obviously a brand new belt is a little less dusty and whatnot, but as for being able to look at something like the belt's teeth for indications of wear, I don't think that's possible. At least, it's not possible for me.

Thanks for the info. I will trust the opinion of you guys who have had the unfortunate experience of having a belt go bad (cross my fingers and knock on wood).

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Come to think of it, over the course of the past few days, the car was a little hard to start. Nothing serious, but did bit fire right up.

So I think I will look at the ignition pieces first. Try and get it running before tackling the timing belt.

I am quite sure this 2.2L could not turn 2:14's at VIR.
