Oops, can someone move this to the auto-x category?

I thought this was brought up before, but... Are there any manufacturers with contingency programs other than Toyota? Not the one where you win money for winning races, but the type that gives you breaks on the cost of parts or even buying a car. Thanks.

Mazda and the Mazdaspeed program could be one of the best. But Toyota is really good, too.

I think I heard that GM has a few offers as well and will offer factory support at national events

I've never seen GM "support" anywhere but Nationals and the Runoffs. Never at a National autocross nor a National club race. But their presence at Nationals and the Runoffs was still pretty huge, and everyone else was non-existent.

I don't know what they have to give you a parts price break, though.

Mazda's grassroots support is awesome. Plus they have "racer only" stuff in their catalog that your local dealer can't see; not even sure if they can order it with a part number.

Scott and Aaron had nothing bad to say about TRD support either.

Oh, Toyota is good. Heck, the free membership got me $600 off on a supercharger for my Tacoma. Yeah, the motorsports program will even get you good prices on stuff that's obviously for the street. Sure, some people race trucks and all that, but I doubt anyone at TRD seriously thinks I'm doing anything race related with my Tacoma. But they don't care! Woot.

Overall, though, Mazda's program is a little more thorough and a little better.

This is certainly swaying me to try a Mazda. I wish Toyota had more of a selection to choose from in later model cars. Good info. BTW, for others, just google mazdaspeed and you'll find info on the program. Thanks for the info!

When it comes to a parts program, Toyota's can't be touched by anyone, including Mazda (I've been part of both). Toyota's program for stock parts is dealer cost MINUS 20% shipped to your house from Tustin, CA for FREE.

When I grenaded my engine at VIR, a new shortblock from the dealer would have cost me $2600. I got one delivered to my house for $1013. ;) - AB
