My neighbor has a 1991 Maxima with a leaky oil pan. He is pretty sure it is the gasket. I have yet to look under the car for him. In some online searching it looks like newer models (92+), it is quite involved. Just curious if anyone has done this on a 1991 or has access to AllData and can send me some info before I commit to helping him undertake this.

Before I would pull the pan and put in a new oil pan gasket, I'd see if I could tighten up the oil pan bolts. Often a 1/2 a turn on the ones you can get to will help.

Based on what I see on my 87 Maxima (aka The Dog) you would have to lift the engine up to get the oil pan off. It would be a pain.
