I have a harbor freight impact wrench and it became a hammer after about 4 autocross events.

Everything from HF eventually turns into a hammer. I've got more than a few "hammers" that have accumulated recently...

I think there's a couple different models, but I went through 2 HF impacts within the original return period - the first had a funky clutch, and while the second was better, it would not loosen a torqued lug, so back it went too.

That's the truth but it's never a surprise when you look at the price points at which their tools are sold. :P

I broke numerous extentions during a timing belt swap.

However, their stuff is good if you plan to using it infrequently and don't need the best quality, or even good quality.
