My 1994 Civic Si needs some love, and I'm tired of the crap-shoot parts that Advance sells me.

Is Autozone or Napa or CarQuest any better?

Any web vendors that are known to be good?

(I know about www.hondaautomotiveparts.com for stock pieces...)

I'm looking for suspension bushings, engine mounts, valve cover gasket, plug wires, possibly a distributor.

I don't want to race or rice it up, but maybe make it just a little better than stock.

Thanks!
Eric

Eric,

You mentioned the Majestic Honda websites above (Honda automotive parts site). There is also San Leandro Honda...

http://www.slhondaparts.com/

If I remember correctly SL Honda has better parts diagrams, and Majestic has better prices.

For pretty much everything you listed below, I personally would be buying from Majestic . As for something like the plug wires, I would tend to pick a brand (such as Denso for example) and then just shop online for them. I tend to assume that CarQuest, NAPA, Autozone, etc. are all the same. Someone please correct me if I am wrong as I would love to know if one FLAPS is better than the other. I only goto the dealership if I am looking for something like official Honda coolent, etc.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I've had bad lucket with aftermarket valve cover gaskets.

For all the other stuff I would go with OEM like Richard said.

Energy suspension makes all sorts of bushings for most hondas at decent prices.

Ignition stuff is best to go with NGK.

I've bought from both San Leandro and Majestic. SL shipping costs are huge. I found many parts for my 1990 are now available locally.

X 2

SL has a KILLER parts catalog, but Majestic has better prices and is in Delaware IIRC, so ground shipping takes 1-2 days.

Like Mike said, avoid the aftermarket Valve Cover gaskets. I too have only had luck with OEM

Boy, you are right! SL Honda has much better diagrams. Thanks for the pointer and the help.
