I'm going to call to order the headrest mount - I'll ask about the Corvette mount if you're interested.

Please do.

Tried to call a couple times to order and confirm in stock, kept getting voicemail so I ordered from filmtools.com - sorry.

I'd like to get a track-approved camera setup before next weekend.

I saw a post here or another forum with a setup that attached to the headrest posts, and wasn't very expensive.

Would this be legal for track events? Does anyone know what mount I'm thinking of? My forum searches are turning up nothing.

Some instructors have and could balk at anything near their head that either (1) has any sharp edges or (2) could be hard/rigid enough to hurt during an impact. Just so you know.

When I mount a camera in the car I make sure that it's far enough from the headrests that there is little chance of impact except in the event of seatback failure. I would recommend that everyone do the same! Never been a fan of headrest mounts.

Here's what I did in the Subaru:

Thanks - I'm planning on attaching the camera mount to the rear headrest posts for just this reason.

Not to raise a dead topic or anything (even though I am  ), but I got a camcorder for Christmas and want to now build such a contraption. Mike, would you be willing to lend me your expertise to build the same thing for my car? :D
