What have I been doing instead of autocrossing? Well working on the 914 of course and also building an automobile rotisserie.

The idea is that the car is going to be mounted on this when it is media blasted, while I do any body work and when I paint it. I hope to send the car off to be media blasted in the next 30-60 days.

Awhile back I had looked into setting up a THSCC welding class, but quickly found on that a significant limiting factor was being able to find a place that had enough electrical outlets AND workspace AND shielding to allow more than 2 or 3 people to weld at the same time. It is pretty hard to do. Unable to get that worke out, I eventually took an evening welding class at Durham Tech over the spring semester. I highly recommend the community college welding route.

Community college is highly underrated. You can learn to weld, speak Spanish, or write a screenplay at community college(Along with about a thousand other things). In this day, every one is expected to go toa four year college even tho that is not the right place for "everyone".

Where are you getting steel? Seems that Dillon supply is gone and I don't know of any place to pick up big stuff in Wake county.

The square steel tubing is from Dillon supply. I am guessing that they may have moved from an old location to a new one vs. going out of business? I am pretty sure they have a location both Raleigh and Durham.

The round tubing was bought online because Dillon will not sell small lengths (I don't need 20ft of pipe). Some misc. stuff was bought at Lowes. I hate to buy anything from Lowes or Home Depot due to the cost, but it is convenient
