I just changed the front brake pads on my truck 3.0L V6 and the ABS light is on. It did not read a code on the scanner at the Auto Parts store and the guy there said on his the code went away after he bled the brakes. (I hadn't gotten around to that yet.)


Went home, bled the brakes, still the light comes on. Any thoughts? Brakes work fine, good pedal pressure, no lockup when I slam them on, I can feel the ABS pulsing.

BTW do not ever buy EBC brake pads. They suck. I have about 20K on them and they were down to the backing plates. Actually the right one was past the backing plates. This compares to the 60K miles I got on the original equipment pads.

Not sure about your ABS issue, but I had the exact opposite problem with the EBC Greenstuffs that were on my Miata. They sucked because they felt like 2x4's!! Absolutely no bite and stopping distances sucked ass. Carbotech Bobcats and all was fine. I think Hawks are going on there next.

Could you have possible knocked the wheel sensor out of alignment with the ring on the hub?

Also the ABS system has a seperate computer in my car so reading the ECU code won't get you codes. Not sure if yours is like that.

^^ That is what I was thinking. It is pretty easy to pull one of the pickup plugs loose when taking the caliper off.
