My 1990 Honda Civic SI hesitates at light throttle until it warms up. It feels like I'm learning to drive a stick for teh first time. It's only started doingthis in the last couple of weeks, and rain doesn't have an affect on it. In the last year, I've replaced all the vacuum lines, plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor. I have no ECU codes either. I'm not sure what to look at, it behaved this way late last summer too.

I don't know if the earlier cars are afflicted with them, but this sounds like an Ignitor (inside the distributor) letting go.

It's a slow process, at least with my old Integra it was. Started with stumbly running, then the tach started jumping all over the place, and ended with the car inoperable in the middle of the Petersburg ProSolo. Fun times.

See Phil? Your Honda is pissed off with you that you bought a BMW, and its acting out...

Had the ignitor in the distributor also go bad in our 90 SI when we had it.
At some point it will not start anymore.

I had the same issue with a '91 Si way back when. In my case, the car just died with no prior symptoms. There was a recall on my car and I got it fixed for free but that was in ~'94 so I'm guessing they aren't honoring it anymore. I don't know how recalls work but if there is a chance it is still active, you might want to look into it if that is indeed your issue.

James is right about the recall, they change our for free. It's was some time ago and i need some pointer now to help me remember these thing.
And i think that we replaced it twice also.

Hey is my color-coordinated red duct tape still covering up the holes in the bumper? Ah, how I miss that car. No not really.
