I think you need some rubber in there. Polyurethane has a tendency to do that, from what I've read... rubber just flexes. That's why the Subaru Group N bushings are hard rubber.

After looking at it again, I see that the metal is bent, too. Damn.

The car didn't feel THAT powerful when I drove it - I guess it's just deceptive, huh?

How are the rest of the mounts? New? Poly? Torn?

That metal may have bent *after* the poly tore -- once the engine can slop around the forces could certainly have rounded out the hole.

Is the aluminum part of the mount stock? Can the metal part be reinforced?

Can you use an alternate engine location device like a chain to inhibit motion in the direction that is a problem? I know some autocrossers do that.

Could you add plates to the side of the poly mount to inhibit flex?

Any chance that something hit the mount to start the bending of the metal? Could the poly have been torn or damaged during or before installation?

Poly mounts from a reputable company? What do they think/suggest?

This is on the rally car. All three mounts were new, polyurethane from VF Engineering. The other two seems fine.

None of it is stock.

Hmmm. All good questions. Don't know.

It is the rally car.

I did the install and don't recall it being damaged.

VF Engineering.

What do they think/suggest

I'll ask.

You must have hit something to bend the metal. Where in relation to the motor is that mount?
