I have the Milwaukee 18V, at $300 it's expensive, but the battery life is great and it is a very good tool.

I think Tom Hoppe uses the much cheaper Harbor Freight version. THe big difference is that the Harborfreight one is not variable speed like the name brands, that means you can't gently spin the lug nuts on (but it takes them off great). Tom payed less than half of what I paid.

$300 isn't bad if it is a good tool. I would also like to hear what Tom Hoppe has to say about Northern Tool cordless.

I use a DeWalt 18v cordless drill. I still have to break the lugs loose by hand, but I only have to go about 1/4 turn with the torque wrench to tighten 'em to 70 lbs. It seems to have stood up to the abuse so far, and I still use it all the time as a normal drill. It goes for $179 at Lowes.

Our 18V. Millwaukee 1/2" drive impact wrench is a brute of a tool! Breaks loose wheel lugs without a wimper. We did 16 sets of wheel changes at one pro solo on a single battery charge (it comes with two batteries). I also pull it out any time I am working on the car. It made compressing coil springs a lot easier.
We have had one battery quit taking a charge after a year of weekly use.
