The rotors on our 2001 4-Runner are warped and need replacement. The truck has 105k miles and is still running original pads, rotors, shoes, and drums.

I know I need to replace the front pads and rotors and I've read to use the cheap napa rotors ($32 vs their $86 rotors). Toyota pads are only a couple bucks more than OEM Napa pads, so I'll go to the dealer to get them. Done deal unless someone can convince me otherwise.

What I don't know about is the drums and shoes. The shoes look fine and because of the soft suspension, I suspect they get even less use than other autos rear brakes.

The truck stops fine, just a little longer than before the rotors started warping. That's why I'm leaning towards doing the front first and seeing what that changes. Thanks for suggestions.

Phil

I would leave them be, if they still have plenty of material.
But replace both drums and shoes at the same time. Places will still turn drums but nobody cam grinds the shoes to match anymore and they work like crap when not matched.
