Hi All,

Has anyone had, or had occasion to see or set in Momo "Rookie" Model Race Seats?

I do know they are FIA approved, which I want, to avoid ever having to provide additional upright support.

Any opinions?

TIA,

Steve

I have one in my Miata and its FIA approved. Its a very light seat and reasonably comfortable.

Appreciate the comments Mark,

Can padding (foam) be added underneath the upholstery covering? I presume it can similar to other units with 'top' covering only.

Seller says he thinks it may be marked "FIA xxxx 1997", but he's checking. I don't think there was a '1997', but not sure. Pretty sure though it needs to be an "FIA 8855 - 1999" at least for SCCA, which I'd want for future purposes.

Thanks for the response,

Steve

I don't know if you could add padding under the upholstry, but I doubt it based on my memory of the seat. Unfortunately I don't have access to the seat to check, as the car is being stored somewhere else.

Yeah, you need the 1999 or later in order to get out of the requirement for a seatback brace.
