I have the Toyo T1-R on my 03 330i, and I would be glad to sell them to anyone interested in them. They have about 10,000 miles on them. 225/40-18 and 255/35-18. They are a poor excuse for a very high performance street tire imo. I will buy RA-1 r-compound tires from Toyo again but never these tires...extremely disappointed.

The 711s are the street tires on all three of our cars. They are good in the rain and ride nice. It may be because my car pushes like a dump truck, but they suck on track. At least mine did at VIR-F.

I have used the Falken 451 and Sumitomo HTR Z for HPDE. The Sumitomo HTR Z is awesome and the with a price point of $71 per tire, can not be beat.

I second the Sumitomo HTR Zs. I bought a used set (almost new) of 4 for $80 and ran them at VIR-N. They were acutally pretty good, and considering I paid $20 per tire they were damn good!

I dismounted the HTR Z's after I bought a set of RT-615's. I ran the 615's at VIR-N with NASA. Surprisingly the Azenis were not that much better than the HTR Z's. Considering the price difference, the Sumitomos were a much better bang for the buck even at full retail price.

I'll be running the Falkens again at the upcoming PCA event, but switching back to the HTR Z's for Rockingham. That banked oval hard on tires, especially on camber challenged cars like mine.

That surprises me. I was keeping up and even catching some cars with slicks on my T1-Rs. If you are used to RA-1s then I could see your displeasure. I'll be running them at the PCA event at VIR this month.

Thanks for all the help/input guys. I checked this thread a few times after i posted and therent werent many replies. I've since did a lot or homework else where and ordered some Kumho MXes. I now see this thread has blown up since i last checked. wups :P

I found a wide variety of opinions on what works (on BMW and general car forums)and the good ol MX came up again and again and had by far and wide the most consistently good feedback for holding up on the track. Its not quite as durable as i was originally after, but at $115 a pop for 245/40-17" i think theyll be ok.

Thanks!
