Anyone had experience with the Greddy E-Manage Blue? Is it easy to tune, anything to look for, etc?

Thanks,

Marty,

No firsthand experience but here's my research...

I looked into this and the E-Manage Ultimate about a year ago. I wasn't really impressed with it for how much money you spend to get all the GReddy-only accessories and all the growing pains (this was when the blue box was reasonably established and for a few months after the Ultimate came out). It seemed you needed to "hack" the blue box to make it do what you wanted and that the more expensive Ultimate fixed most of those hacks.

I know one person that setup an Ultimate on an M2 Miata when it first came out and got it to work but not all the features of the Ultimate worked and GReddy was patching the software frequently at the time.

There are two Yahoogroup listserves about them, you may want to look there and review the archives for better and more current information.

Anyhow, at that juncture, I decided that the MegaSquirt was a better choice even with the DIY pains associated with it since it seemed as if folks were have just as much pain with the E-Manage and it was more expensive and less flexible.

YMMV...etc...etc...

Regards,
--Ashraf

Thanks..

I have a chance to buy a E-M blue with the injector harness, Autotune, Support Software, and wideband O2 for about $300 dollars and I was seeing it it was worth it.

for 300 bucks, i'd say it's worth it. It's better than megasquirt, which would cost you more than that. Almost all my experience is with MS, but my short experience with E-M was that it wasn't hard to tune, and very easy to learn.

I waited too long to get it, but now that the Ultimate has come down in price, I am seeing a few blues come up for sale for a fairly reasonable price.
