Who do you guys recommend (in the Raleigh area) for mounting tires purchased through Tire Rack?

Thanks,

Mark

Mark Cooper at Hubcap Heaven is an authorized Tire Rack installer. In fact, he has some business of mine that I need to pick up this week.

If you hit there around lunchtime, Harrison's (right next door) makes the best burger in the Triangle.

We will mount thier tires as well. If you are in the Cary area, ask for me at the Discount Tire on highway 55. 363-3027. Our other stores will do it as well.

While I appreciate your "good employee" mentality, Jeb, and wish that I had a fantastic boss that I could cyberpimp like this, there is no way that I could recommend a chain store over a club sponsor that is currently in its second iteration. Steve Pierce is a helluva guy (the OG vendor), as is Mark Cooper.

Going there, chatting up Mark over BS racing stuff and handing him my ducats makes me feel a lot better than swiping a card at a nationally owned chain extension. And the fact that you can make fun of his BMW's salad shooter wheels makes it even more gratifying.

Yeah! What Wes said...

In checking the THSCC Sponsor/Supporters page...
http://www.thscc.com/general/info/sponsors.html
Hmmm... I don't see Discount Tire listed, so I'd guess we'd be charged the same rates as any swingin' (insert word of choice) that drove in off the street. :)

Seriously, Jeb, you may want to contact our Business Dev. Manager Jonathan Rodriguez. I'm sure you guys could work out a discount arrangement for THSCC members (and their spouses, and their kids... 8) )

That's the way to get our attention.

Thanks for the tip. I e-mailed Jonathan. Sorry if my loyalty/enthusiasm stepped on any toes...

Wow. I think every shop deals with high-end cars. We did a $12K wheel deal on Kevin Weekes Maserati Coupe when he bought that and earlier this year we did $8K on a 2006 Aston Martin DB9 Convertible. It is all about having the right equipent and the right guys to do the job... Porsches and Vettes are no strangers to tire shops in Cary.... <shrug>

No slight to Discount Tire (I appreciate *any* tire shop that is willing to mount Tire Rack tires), but I did go to Hubcap Heaven today, and Mark mounted my tires right up as I waited. They have a top notch machine, with all the latest nylon adapters etc to keep from scratching your shiny rims.

Its interesting to note that Hubcap Heaven can also get Toyo Race Tires at the same prices you pay anyplace else, for 1 stop shopping. They can also get your rims reconditioned/repaired, and stock a supply of OEM replacement rims if you ruin one, need one for a spare etc.

Consider me a satisfied customer...

Mark

i had my truck tires mounted at HH&W a couple of weeks back. one of the michelins was not cooperating with the balancing to Mark's liking so we agreed to mount it on the rear.

air pressures on my truck are 55F & 75R. i was headed out of town in the afternoon towing a full trailer to watkins glen.

i got a call at 8am from Mark telling me to check the pressure in the rear tire as it was originally going to be mounted on the front.

point is, where else can anyone expect one on one service like this? HH&W is the kind of business we can all strive to operate like. i only hope i have made a similar impression on some of my customers.

one nice thing I found about discount tire is that they will almost always match tire racks prices for the tires as well, and you don't have to futz with shipping and getting someone else to install them. They will still install other people's tires though. I've had great experiences with the one in Cary (at Maynard and Harrison) recently, and this was before I knew Jeb worked at the other one (I'd have gone to him if I'd known him then). And if you buy the tires and have them mounted from them, you get lifetime balancing, which I've used to get my tires rebalanced now 4 different times (I'm really picky about my tire balance).
