My conversion to 6 cylinder power in the 914 is entering the closing stages, and it is down to the little BS $5 items that take forever to source.
The headers I have are designed for megaphone track exhaust, and as such are about 5" shy of meeting up with the muffler, so I need to make some "street extensions" to mate the two.

Anyway, I am looking for a place that sells exhaust components, particularly flanges. The one (or 4) that I am looking for have two bolts 3-1/16" on center and the center hole is 2" diameter. It is a standard Porsche-type flange that I believe is used on other cars as well.

Any one know of a place that sells that kind-o-stuff, hopefully in the North Raleigh area?

Wish I had an answer for you Jason, but I don't. :(

Anyhow, welcome back! I know it has been a slow hard road in doing the swap.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

Richard-
It sure has, but the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter!! This and a few more hours are all that are holding me up from taking that first spin around the block. I'm scramblingto be ready for the PCA event at Rockingham next week, and plan to resume regular AXing in Danville the week after that!

I suppose worst case I could just get some steel plate and hack out a set, but surely someone must make and sell these?!?!?!

It might be cheaper to have an exhaust shop fab something up for you that doesn't use a Porsche specific muffler. I hear that Magnaflow mufflers sound pretty good.

Jason go to to R&J in apex

R & J Custom Exhaust, Inc.
554 E. Williams Street
Apex, NC 27502

He is a club sponsor, he is the one that did my custom muffler setup some time ago, he will fix that for you and he is not really expensive.

Hope to see you in Rockingham

Patrice

He is not a club sponsor but Henry's muffler might have what you are looking for or an alternative solution.

The original location is on Capital Blvd in front of the indoor flea market.

I think George was talking about Henry's not being a club sponsor.

Thanks for the input, guys, I'll continue the search tomorrow!!

Jason, I second the vote for Henry's. I've had good luck with them in the past.

Get that car together, so you can come beat up on Les!

Jason, Robert is the man if you need fabrication. i was there recently and he was freehanding a header for a 1970's era dodge something small block drag/street car. ain't no one else i would rather have working on my vehicles' exhaust than Robert.

2 votes for Henry's and 3 votes for R&J....I'm gonna try Henry first since he is the closest, then off to Apex if need be!

Thanks for the referrals.... Believe me, I am ready to wrap this project once and for all, it has been steady going since November, and stupid going the last month...I hope this motor runs?!?!?!

You haven't started it up without the exhaust attached? Why not? It smells ... like victory.
