I'm in need of a set of oversized Torx bits and can't seem to come up with any. We're building a new type of commercial grade playground at work today and the big box stores are no help.

I'll be heading down to Harbour Freight after hitting up Mayflower (yum!) and was wondering if anyone could recommend a plan B in the event they don't carry them.

thanks!
Matt

HF might not help. Check with Wilders Fasteners also off of Capital. My WAG is that if they sell the bolt, they'll sell the tightener.

You may also try Fastenal. They have a storefront in Clayton, but maybe Raleigh too

I got mine from Sears. If you own a GM car they are a must have tool.

By oversized, I assume you mean large- like T50 + up??

Sears has a pretty good assortment, also Carquest, Autozone and Napa sell them. (if you strike out at HF)

If you need a large torx bit with a long shank, then you'll have to go to Snap on or one of the specialty tool places.

Sears or an autoparts store.

Try not to get the Lisle brand, they suck (will bend/twist). You want one with a steel bit that is actually inserted into a socket, rather than the whole thing cast as one piece.

Thanks guys!

I went to Wilders and they had all five bits including an oversized temper-proof Torx.
