Can you try to give me a decent idea of when to show up? Last time I was given a particular time slot, and I waited almost 2 hours past that for them to "fit me in". Since it appeared to take about 20 seconds to switch from RWD to FWD setup I'm not sure why the delay, but I have no problems going along with the owner's rules. I'd just like to be able to plan my day a little better this time, if that's possible.

Thanks Rodney!

Rodney,

I sent you a PM on the 7th. I guess you must have not got it? Anyhow I can't make it. Shocks for the CRX came in 2 weeks later than I thought they would so I will be installing them this weekend. Sorry for the late cancellation.

Sure you don't want to bring it over? If you never have done this, it's a great way to base line the car. Think about it. If not, that's fine, we'll try to fit someone else in.

Thanks Chris!

I would have to go back to my parents Friday to get the Vette anyway to dyno it Saturday. They are 3 hours away so that would be 6 hours of driving after work Friday night. I got the dreaded "kiss of death message" (SERVICE COLUMN LOCK) yesterday morning when I was about to leave to come back to Raleigh. It is the 3rd damn time the steering column has locked up on that P.O.S. I really wanted to get a base line but with the steering column problems I have had with that damn thing the past 3 years I may just get rid of it later this year.

FWIW in case anyone is wondering C5's are notorious for having the steering column lock up. The locking pin that locks the steering after you turn the car off doesn't retract like it is supposed to when you start the car. Some more marvelous engineering by Chevrolet that they couldn't seem to correct despite building the car for 7 years and sending out numerous recalls.

have you tried different dealers on your recalls Chris? i took mine in when i got the notice even though i did not have an issue. had Hendricks work on it.

of course you could put a solo 1 bar in it and come out and play. i saw an early integra for sale in my neighborhood today. or maybe a pickup truck. two race cars and a daily driver. its you, i can see it now. 8) 8)

Take it to the dealer and have it completely removed. GM has now decided to quit dicking with it and just remove the pin. You should have gotten a recall notice on it.

Or do the simple fix. Go buy the CLB device that costs $50 and install it. You'll never have the problem again.

I would never give up my Z06 just for that silly problem than can be fixed. Then again I'm slightly biased

so, I'm fine doing two runs during my slot, one baseline and one with my intake right? The stock resonator is still in and everything, my wife has timed me before, I can genuinely make the switchover in less than 10 minutes (usually around 5), since I do it for every autocross and every dealer visit I've gotten quite good at it. Its just a short ram intake with a heat shield, everything installs with like 4 screws. I'll go ahead and go first, just in case I run over, since my wifes spot will be right after mine, and all she wants is a baseline (which will only take as long as it takes to strap the car down).

Brice... yes, essentially you'll have 40 minutes for your two cars, sounds like that should be plenty of time for what you need done.

Rodney, what was the final cost for each person? I don't see that listed.

according to carolina automasters website, the dyno days are $600 for 12 cars, $20/car extra over that, so if it stays at 12, we're talking $50/car, if we get to $15 people, it'll be more like $44. I'm assuming THSCC got their normal club price day.I'm still trying to drum up interest amongst mazda3 people on the forums, I'll let ya know how that goes.

If it ends up being only 12 cars... and everyone is cool with $50... we should be able to extend the time slots to at least 30 minutes... which would allow for a little bit more flexibility if someone wants to make adjustments on the Dyno.

I forwarded one email to Rodney from a Z Club member who was interested, but haven't heard much other than that.

since I'm scheduled as one of the last slots of the day, is there someone I can call ahead of time before I drive out there to make sure everything is still on schedule? Carl Fisher's story of waiting around makes me nervous, I'm not looking to wait for 2 hours before I get on the dyno. Should I just call CAM?

so, I've got yet another interested in coming, a Sentra SE-R (FWD). If you could just schedule him after me that would be best.
