Longshot request:

Does anyone know of any local places that sell something like this? I have checked both Northern locations and HF, they don't have any in stock. Only option is to order, but I kinda need one this weekend.

I couldn't find anything on the agri-supply site either. Any ideas before I drive out to Greensboro to buy one at Northern?

Carquest on Millbrook Rd should have them, but they'll probably be $$$$ compared to Northern.

Thanks guys! I thought to call Napa this morning -- they will have one here from their warehouse in High Point by 2pm today. I guess Napa or Carquest are the places to go for specialty tools in a hurry.

It's funny -- I have this kick ass lift now, and I go to replace transmission mounts the other day, thinking, "wait a minute... I can't just roll the jack under here to hold the transmission up". Hahaha. One tool forces me to buy others.

I need to post some pictures. It's been great to be able to work under the car!

I have a rule of thumb that rarely fails: Every new task on a vehicle, or an old task on a new vehicle, requires buying at least one tool.

My rule of thumb has been that the more frustrated that you are at a particular point in the project, the further/deeper the tool and/or bolt will fall away from you.

Mine are the tripod style and don't "jack", they just have a big screw at the top. I got them from Northern Tool a few years ago. Looks like this one, though I don't recall capacities and such:

Assuming we haven't gotten rid of them already, I'd sell for $50.
