During my time off from work (for the next 2 weeks), I'd like to go and try on some new helmets (SA2000 and SA2005). Where can one go to try on helmets? Rich recommended CVProducts (www.cvproducts.com) which is about a 1.5 hr drive and I'm ok with that, but CVProducts only carries Bell and Sparco. Any other recommendations on where to go to try on new helmets?

I recommend the Simpson store off I-77 north of Charlotte. First light just west of I-77 at Exit 36, which is the Mooresville exit. It's about a 2-hr. drive from Raleigh. Take I-40 to Statesville, then I-77 South, or take I-85 South to route 73 and take a cross-country short-cut through China Grove. Address is 185 Rolling Hills Road, Mooresville, NC 28117

Tons of helmets at all price levels. Shoes, suits, harnesses, Nomex stuff, and they always have an overstock table with all kinds of stuff at 30-50% off. Not sure if they have SA2005's in stock yet.

Plus, your right in NASCAR-land, with several race shops within 2-3 miles of the place, if you're in to that sort of thing.

Matt:
Don't know for sure, but I'd guess they are, since they're right in the middle of all the race shops that give tours to the NASCAR junkies.

You probably should call, though. Cool place to browse, even if you don't buy nuthin'!

Seems Like the VIR Store would be another place that is a little closer.
