Any recommendation on a local place to get a bent wheel fixed? A friend's son mashed a rim.

Thanks
Marcus

Marcus,

Talk to Mark Cooper at Hubcap Heaven. I seem to remember him saying something about that once.

Mark can straighten some wheels if the damage is not severe. He can send it off to be reconditioned if it needs to be heated to straighen it.

He can also get reconditioned wheels if the rim is beyond repair.

When I was having exhaust work done at R&J in Apex I noticed customers coming in to pick up rims that he 'fixed'. They may want to give them a holler.

FYI "be careful". I have no idea whether or not any wheels are really safe to repair (I'm not a Mechanical Engineer or a Metallurgist) but this link http://conecrazy.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1472 which was posted on a racing forum might be relevant.

Most places, the good ones anyway, will not even attempt to repair a cracked wheel. Only bends and rash should be 'fixed'.

You can also take it to Kevin Ley at MM Autowerks. He straightened one for me and you can't see the repair.

Strictly a rumor, but I heard something about Kevin "disassociating" himself from THSCC..... WTH??? Did someone piss him off or what?
