the company stance may be against spacers, but i think general concensus is spacers = just fine.

Agreed. Consider this: every dualy sold uses a spacer on the front wheels.

So we are opening this can of worms again.... Aftermarket spacers are the no-no. If it is built into the hub or the wheel for that matter (some Lorinzers if I remember right have one attached to the wheel), those are ok. These little plates that go between the wheel and the hub... nay.

Nahhh 5mm spacers are totally legal for Stock class.

Other classes may allow more, but I am too lazy to look it up (plus I dont need them, I actually need to go the other way!)

Not a question of class legality, just overall safety...

How about if I just drive the car up on the spacers so my jack will fit under the oil pan? Seems the new springs caused a slight interference fit.

Ryan, you should put the spacers on the outside. That will move the wheels in.

Next non-performance mod: Am auxmod from Sylex. It is an adaptor that allows the use of an MP3 player with the stock Mazda3 stereo. The fun begins with the complete removal of the fascia and stereo. But the install itself is simply a plugin. I might do it in a few days but there is a Brit car show in Salisbury this weekend and that sounds like more fun.

I added the Alpine PIE adapter to mine. It is a breeze, Chuck.

May have a new project after the Roebling Track event. May try to replace the M45 S/C with a MP62 unit. We will see how that goes.

Who has the MP62 for the 1.6?

Nobody...

This will be a home brew attempt. There is an abundance of MP62's and M62's out there thanks to GM. Not as many as M90's, but that would be overkill.

;)

Hi All,

My track car is a '03 Mustang/Cobra vert. I have done the following to help it be a better track car. I only do DEs but hope to do some time trials in the next couple of seasons.

K&N air filter
Borla exhaust
M/M strut tower brace
M/M caster/camber plates
AutoPower roll bar
Simpson's 6 pt. harnesses
OMP seats
rear seat delete
MGW shifter

I have done all the work myself. Hope to meet some of you at Roebling.
