Anyone here an expert on these aluminum racing jacks.. i currently have 2 of them one from sams (blue anodized looking one) and one from harbor frieght (all silver) and neither are working properly right now.. i've tried varying methods of bleeding/filling.. the blue one right now doesnt feel like its pumping much at all.. i had just gotten my car a couple inches off the ground and it just slowly let out.. the silver one when its extended and under some load it sort of clicks and it slowly goes down as the handle slowly goes up.. if anyone can either call me to help me get one working or if i can bring them to someone to help me get them working that would be great.. my # is 919-349-0029

Matt

Jacks are basically the simplest hydraulic circuit known to man. Sounds like the check valve in both cases. The smallest piece of S___T in the fluid can, and will, hang up on the check seat or the safety blow-off valve if it has one, although you'd already be seeing a leak if that was the case.

If the check is held off the seat by a small piece of crap, then you're just pumping back to tank when the jack is loaded.

Probable Fix:

1.) Drain the fluid, as much as you can.
2.) Pull the check, which may be as simple as a ball and a spring.
3.) Clean everything like you were going to do surgery and carefully reassemble.
4.) Refill with pristine JACK fluid (not brake fluid).
