I would like to replace the bearings on my tire trailer. Does anyone that has (or had) a small Harbor Freight utility trailer (48" X 40") have the identification numbers for the wheel bearings (inner and outer) and seal? Was there originally an owners manual with this information? Thanks for any assistance.

Rick, here's a link to the original manual: Click Here

The manual won't give you the bearing size, but they are a standard item for the 3.5' x 4' trailers, so harbor freight or Northern will have them. I have an extra set sitting at home (actually hubs too), so I will check tonight and post it out here. - AB

Aaron, thanks for the link to the manual. I am thrown off by the various names that Harbor Freight uses or products. My trailer is made by Long Chin, the current trailer on the HF website that looks like it is labeled "Haul-Master" and the name on the linked manual is "US General". Are these all the same manufacturer or does it not matter? I am reluctant to rip out the interior seals (destructive removal) and inner bearings without knowing that I have the right replacement part in hand.

They all have the same specs, but are contracted out to different manufacturers. My original 4x8' foldable was made by Long Chin, but the 3.5x4' I have now was made by US General. The bearings for both of them are exactly the same.

I talked to Harbor Freight today and they told me bearing size is 25mm. I've used the Northern Tool and Equipment 1" bearings (25mm = .98425 inches) and they've worked fine.

Harbor Freight will sell them to you over the phone only and they are on backorder with a six week lead time

You can find the Northern one's here and they do stock them in the stores:

Aaron, thanks again for the good information. I guess I'll visit Northern Tool.
