I was planning to order a set of v710's this week from the Tirerack; however, they are on backorder. Any recommendations on where I might be able to find a set? I guess if I can't find them, I may order a set of Victoracers or Ecsta v700's.

Might want to call Appalachian Race Tire www.racetire.com
I know they carry Hoosier and Toyo - expect they carry most competition brands. They're in Tenn, but will UPS to you.

You may still be able to get one of the last sets of 15 inch Hoosiers that Tire Rack carries. The A3S04 is on close out now and going real cheap.

Yeah I thought about getting the A3S04's, but I understand that they are a pain if your car doesn't have at least 3 degrees of negative camber. That is, you have to flip the tires on the wheels occasionally.

At least 3 degrees??? That's going a bit overboard. The Mini Cooper eats them because I think it has less than one degree. On our Miata we get less than two degrees and have no serious shoulder wear problems.

Yeah, I guess I exaggerated a little. My point was Kumhos are more friendly towards cars that have little negative camber (<1 degree). However, Jim P. told me he has to flip his Hoosiers on the wheels after about 15 runs. I think he said he has less than 2 degrees...

I actually have a little more than -2.3 in the front of the MR2. It seems that most of my energy goes into getting the most runs out of a set of tires. By running goobs of negative camber and flipping them every 15-20 runs, I could get 80 runs before they corded the outer edge.

my understanding is that Type-R's are not that firendly on the shoulders of tires, in spite of the front A-arm suspension.
