Another bunch of new GTECHpro meters are on ebay. $27 plus $6 to ship. They're the old, sorta dumb devices, but then again I resemble that concept ...

Just how dumb? I mean, is it worth the $30, beyond the novelty aspect?

I understand the basic idea. I was looking more for a customer review rather than a tech report.

Worth $30 for entertainment value alone.

Also useful for doing back-to-back mod comparisons if you don't have access to a dyno!

Quite true. I bought it because, at $35, if it gives me any useful info on tires, setup, benefits (or not) from changes it will pay for itself!

Seemed like a good deal to me too.
I would guess that the lack of data logging capability can be offset to some extent by using your video cam to record the results. Since its a single axis device the results are only "absolute" when level, but should be consistent for the same slope.

I think you make a run and then page through the results on the display.....but I could be wrong. Will know soon as they mailed it already!
