I've decided that it's about time for me to invest in a blast cabinet, I've outgrown the "do it in the yard" method.

Does anyone have some experience with these things, what features do I want, and is Harbor Freight "good enough."

The primary use will be cleaning and stripping pait off of car parts. I would like to be able to use different types of media as well, glass beads and maybe walnut shells in particular.

I recently went through the same quandry. But after looking at what was available I was not happy with either the cost or sizes. So I built my own. Its 36"wx24"dx30"h, you can fit a whole engine block in there ask how I know. Your welcome to take a look at it and I could give you some updates if I was to build it over again. By the way I spent $110 on it.

Very cheap. Pretty easy. Space saving. Way cool!

I got mine from:

http://www.tptools.com

I believe mine is the 950 Bead Blazer. Being 6'2" it helped to put it up on something about 4" higher than it free stands, but otherwise no problems. I've ordered parts and blast material from them and never had a problem. Great company to deal with.

You need a pretty hefty air compressor to run one of these...normal portable ones don't last very long. You're welcome to come check mine out if you want.
