Hi guys -

Just bought a set of Tokico Illuminas for my CRX second hand. I'm in need of info on how they adjust.

When I bought the shocks, they came with the adjusters not attached to the shock shafts. Well, this means there's no way for me to tell where "1" is and where "5" is. Moreover, the adjuster (at least on the one corner I tried this morning) doesn't seem to have a stop anywhere; it just freewheels in there. So now I'm really lost.

Anyone got suggestions on how to baseline these adjusters? TIA.

Mine had a little painted on dot that the adjusters lined up with. Without that dot, I don't know.

I'll bring it to the club meeting tonight. Maybe someone can clue me in there.

Hrm, working from memory is killing me here.

I think the adjuster sat on top and then you used a small screwdriver to adjust the shocks? I could be confusing these with the AGX shocks that I owned for a very brief period.

That sounds JUST like the adjusters on the AGX's I have on our CRX, so you are likely getting them confused :)

I can't find a picture of the adjustment, but I found this little blurb.

Quote:
A small, flat-tip screwdriver is used to adjust the Tokico shock absorbers. Just turn the adjuster clockwise to select between 1 (softest) and 5 (firmest).

I distinctly remember an important "dot" being on either the cap or the shock, that without it, you would be lost when trying to adjust them.

I figured it out. The numbered thingies have this small little tab on them that fits down into a slot on the shock shaft. Once that's in there correctly, the adjuster can actually move all the way down and work correctly.

Thanks for the help.
