The paint on the inside of my oil pan is flaking off. I've used a wire brush to remove as much of the loose paint as I could. Is this going to be okay to put back on the engine? This pan is less then 2yrs old, so I'd really hate to have to buy another one.

I would say yes. The oil goes from the pickup, to the pump, to the filter, then out to the engine. I believe that the tiny paint flecks would get caught by either the pickup screen or the filter without trouble.

I've not seen any oil pans that were painted on the inside. If it were mine, I'd take some paint remover to it and take it all out of there, it's not like it's going to rust or anything...
