I have a squeak from the drivers front wheel, turns out it's a combination of things. First is a slightly sticky caliper. Second is the slightly warped rotor (0.005 runout).

Why to avoid a slotted rotor? Try measuring the runout on one. it's tough to work the dial indicator around the slots!

Also, slotted rotor: $65 (hey it's 4 years old, I didn't know better at the time). Advance Auto: $30

Prices went up, they were $12 about 4 years ago. I suspect it has to do with those steel prices?

Maybe not as big of a problem as it looked like a few months ago? From http://www.grede.com/customer_service/p ... Prices.jsp

Hmm, come to think of it, lumber is down and so is gasoline. Funny how the market works. Supply and demand? Nah, how about speculation and reaction.

To continue the OT...

The builder we talked with just told us that concrete is way up. plywood is also going up faster than overall inflation.

Concrete is CRAZY right now. China is building some Dam that is much, much bigger than the Hoover Dam. Its REALLY putting a strain on cement supplies.

If you aint a contractor, forget about getting concrete. If you do happen to have a connection, dont be shocked to see $300 per cubic yard (I used to estimate $62.50/cy before we sold our concrete plants)

$300 for one yard?? Guess I won't be finishing the floor for the steel building any time soon! Last concrete I bought was at $67 a yard with fiberglass in it.
