All this stuff is interesting & I'm learning a lot, but my brain is almost at the point where it will automatically switch to thinking about boobies.

BTW, this is a great thread. Great info here and I've ordered several more books.

What books did you order? On my current wishlist are

How to make your car handle - Fred Puhn
Chassis Engineering/Chassis Design, Building & Tuning for High Performance Handling - Herb Adams
Tune to Win - Caroll Smith
Drive to Win: The Essential Guide to Race Driving - Carroll Smith
Competiton Car Suspension: Design, Construction, Tuning - Allan Staniforth
Speed Secrets: Professional Race Driving Techniques - Ross Bentley
Speed Secrets 2: More Professional Race Driving Techniques - Ross Bentley
Inner Speed Secrets Mental Strategies to Maximize Your Racing Performance: Strategies to Maximize Your Racing Performance - Ross Bentley

Ordered Puhn, ordered the _Race and Rally Car Sourcebook_ by Staniforth, ordered _Car Suspension at Work_ by Daniels, and ordered _High-Performance Handling Handbook_ by Alexander. Already have the Smith books, the other Staniforth (obviously, I quoted it already), and a couple more that are currently MIA. For driving I also recommend the Skip Barber book _Going Faster!_. Another recommendation for general visualization was recommended to me by Eric Peterson..._Thinking Body, Dancing Mind_. You can probably find it at a local bookstore to thumb through to see if it is your cup of tea or not.

It's too bad most "real" race cars use double wishbone suspensions...those of us racing strut cars could definitely benefit from not having to adapt everything. Of course, it's also too bad that everything is written from a road race perspective and not a solo2 perspective

Maybe we should write one!

I'm down with that! Too bad I don't know nuthin!

So that's what Eric is doing when I see him squirming and wiggling with his eyes closed before events.

My conclusion from 2 minutes of number crunching??

My car runs a static -2.5 camber. With that and a bigass front bar and a lot of front spring, the wheel is perfectly damn level at the middle of the turn with full load. The tire temps as well as many pictures prove that. I assume then, that you I'm encountering maybe 5 degrees of roll.

A stock car would probably get closer to 8 ;)

Please take all these numbers with a BIGASS grain of salt ;)

They are not from exact measured numbers. They are from an ESTIMATION of a front suspension which *looks* right.

Static, 0 pitch,yaw,roll

Static, 45 pitch, 0 yaw,roll

Tom,

FYI you can get a feel for the sensitivity of the results to any errors in your measurements by entering slightly (1/4 to 1/2 inch) different numbers for one (at a time) of the hard to measure points and see what happens.

Does the program have a way of estimating the roll angle for a given cornering g's load? I've got a combination of old obsolete software packages that has given me some data that seems reasonable for my FF. It would be nice to use something new like either current Mitchell stuff or the SusProg 3D if it integrates everything in one package.

By the way, at about 1.3 g my FF rolls about 1 to 1.5 degree as I recall.
