Haha I know, there is always compromise, and often times a jack of all trades is a master of none. I'm thinking these lean more towards track than street, but I think Hawk is saying they are 'tolerable for your drive to the track and back'.

These will very likely be loud on the street and leave lots of dust....both things I'm more than fine with for my 'fun' car.

From what i've noticed almost all of their new Street/Track pads are just a rebranded DTC pad like you've already pointed out.

We're back from the Targa Southland. I ran DCT 70/60 on the Vette. They were not perfect, but ok on the road and incredible on the track. Our top speeds were about 140, so I think that racing pads were a good choice. I'm about to pull them off of the vette. I ran the Targa and CMP plus 2400 miles between events. I'm wondering how much pad is left. I guess all that's left to do is to wash off massive amounts of break dust. A great time was had.

Mike,
That is the pad setup I also run on the Vette. My first HPDE was on HP+ pads and went away after that weekend. After moving to the 70/60 setup, the pads last much better and have a much better bite. The only issues I have seen with mine is the rotors wear faster. As fun dust, that is why I run black wheels...

Just to finish off this thread: I ran the THSCC HPDE in September and removed the pads afterwards. There was a little less then 4mm on the worst pads, mild to midland cracking on the front rotors, and a lot of wear on all of the rotors. I guess that it's time to get all new pads and rotors for next year. BTW, I bought a set of C6 Z06 brake inner ducts for $36 new. The ducts greatly increased my pad life and minimized my rotor cracking issues. C5 ducts blow a good portion of the air on your tire. The C6 ducts go around your tire and aim the air directly at the center of the rotor.
