I need a little advice please. I'm looking at a fiberglass hood that's located up in Indianapolis. The hood is an after market that's unique the bullitt in regard to the factory CAI. My issue is the hood vents. One vent looks deformed/narrowed as compared to the other. My question is how hard would something like this be to repair?

I think this hood would a great retro look for the mustang and the price is right, but if I'm going to invest in a 21 hour road trip, the prize at the end needs to be worth it. Right now I have some real concerns about how this might be fixed. I might also add the underside of the hood is already painted, so repair work is going to start to ratchet up in repaint costs. I also thought this might be the lighting, but I have a few more pics at different angles and it shows the same issue.

Thoughts?

My first thought was lighting, but if that's not it, then it's gonna be a major deal to get it to meet your QC specs.

Seriously.

Can you get the seller to take a tape measure to each of the openings, in several different places, and see how much difference there really is?? In my experience, even the best fiberglass body parts like this need alot of tweaking to make them close to perfect.

Is there any sort of screen/vent that will fit in the openings to force/hold them open if the hood material is flexible enough?

lol.... gotta love the defensive posture that a seller takes when you question their item for sale. Told the seller the concerns I had about the vent and the reply email turned negative pretty fast. Guess I'm not driving up to indy after all
