Tire Rack is showing a $70 rebate on RE-71Rs today. $1,108.00 for 4 275-35/18 tires plus tax, shipping....

I think I've made my decision for next year. Limited autox'g, but focus on track. That said, I'll pick up some track tires next year. Looking at the street tires on the mustang, I need those POS tires replaced before it gets cold out. Note to self, NEVER buy sumitomo tires again.

Tires that get slick in the cold just make the drive more interesting! The Camaro had Nitto Invos on it when I got it, honestly those tires were great street tires, they gripped quite well in the cold, the rain and the summer. They were pretty much a good 3 season tire, they were also very quiet on the road. I autocrossed them a few events and they certainly were no worse than what I have now, probably better actually, they were much better at the limits of grip. They would make a good daily driver tire for sure.

I've ordered some new Continental EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 tires from Jeb at Discount Tire on Millbrook rd. This is the newer version over the out going DWS tires. These are supposed to be better handling over the old DWS, so that's a plus and they are actually cheaper than the DWS. Will be nice to finally have a decent set of streets under the mustang. These also qualify for the $100 discount.

BTW, if you order tires either this Fri or Sat, and depending on what you order, you'll receive either $50, $75 or $100 off in the form of a rebate. Jeb recommends to order and then install later to beat the "mad rush" this weekend.

EDIT: corrected the tire model. This is a new tire that's just been released and scored well per tirerack testing. We'll see how it does. considering the price and how the old tires responded in the past, these should be good

Since they "cheaped out" and stopped making the HTR+, I haven't! (I've not seen a single positive review of their tires in years.)

Why all seasons on a Mustang? Sounds similar to selling a Corvette to buy a Subaru. . .

You ever tried driving a V8 RWD car in ~30 degree weather in the rain? Summer tires usually don't work too well, although I will say i've never had any major issues either, just never drive them in the snow, I did try that once, lol.

I suspect All seasons make a very good choice for a daily tire since they'll last twice as long also.

I have the DW's on my Bullitt. I have been very happy with them over the last 25k miles. I would buy them again. I didn't go with the DWS's since I don't drive in the snow.

Austin has DWs on his Camaro and they seem like good tires, they ride well and are pretty grippy. They seem to need a bit more pressure though for AutoX because of the soft sidewalls and you can feel them being a bit slow on turn in as well. Not really an issue though once you get used to it from the few runs i've ridden in his car.

Same here on the GTO. Snow usually means I take the truck.

Exactly, if you have a high hp RWD car, you are doing it a disservice in running all seasons. Buy a truck, or something else, to run in snow. All seasons or no, a Mustang sucks in snow.

I'm not going to hydroplane into a semi-truck so I can go .05g faster around a turn on my way to work.

Good all seasons should have more than enough traction for the street.

I know a guy with a C7 who is running DWS's on his vette, he said he would put the MPSS's back on for the summer but I haven't seen it yet, but he's a waxer anyway, so the all seasons are probably more than good enough lol.

If it snows I just stay home since I have nothing that can go in snow, lol. Except for the dirt bike, but man would that be a long ride and even dirt bikes in snow on pavement don't mix too well, lol.

I have DWs on the Corvette. They are good for daily driving. Rain no problem, dry good, snow meh. I'd recommend them
