vw code 1543

We have a code 1543, because when we unplug the car to store it...The throttle body in the computer forgets its brains.
So when I put her on the trailer ,the battery was low..And the car forgot how to go! I put the car on crooked right,so i had to back up..Ok I thought,let off the brake,so I did,it rolled back too far,so i cranked her up..NADA! SO I then reset the brake,latched on the front tow strap tight,And let off the brake,and pushed her onto the trailer at great effort..Tae Kwon Do builds strong legs! Then reset the brake,and latched her down.Anyway,It wont fire because again when we store her,we undo the battery..Dont do that,It forgets its brains when you do that,now it will light,but not stay lit.So does anyone have a vw scan tool,we can reteach the computer how to drive around? Its funny and really annoying,turn the key,its lighting up and then dying instantly..I would rather not go to vw ,and spend a fortune to have them do it.I considered going to BFI,but does anyone have a vw scan tool? I wanna make vir,but we gotta fix somethings first,and that requires it running .

its our own doing, we unplug her to store her.It is simply saying dont unplug the battery for any length of time.Now, does any one have a reader than can teach the car how to run again.

Freind of mine,Adam Ligon is gonna take a look at her.Next tuesday,then hopefully she will be fine as fettle.I plan to be at vir,with the golf.
Continuing the streak we started at fayetteville.

... until you unplug the battery again. If it's to the point it won't run at all once all the adapations are lost, send it to a junk yard. (which appears to be what's been done with it. :-)) Or chip the ecu so those settings can be coded into it. (which will cost more than the car did.)

I have the Ross HEX-CAN and usually have it on the bus at rallyx, but I didn't drag that laptop with me last time.

We have a thing that ...plugs into the cig lighter,it retains all the settings in the car for a while,while you work on it.I think we have found what is killing the battery,the lights on the interior wont go off,so we took them out.the rears are ok,they are able to be switched off..Only hte fronts are not responding.So we think we will not have to fiddle with teh battery anymore.My sentra was the same way,the computer would forget all sorta crap.and it would not run for spit for a while.

C-Tek battery tender / conditioner. They aren't cheap, but they are made of magic.

Turns out the throttle body sensor may have been bad. After having them check that it reads correctly from 0-100%, they found it went open at one point. A trip to LKQ and many hours later, the FLOG lives again.

Also... tightening the negative terminal helps. :-)

Many of those are because of battery drop-outs due to the bad ground. But, some are there to stay. (the rear driver side control module may be dead.)

While I was there, I changed the lock controls. It will no longer auto-lock the doors, all doors unlock when the key is removed, (if they had one) the remote would act on all doors. I'd turn off the immobilizer, but VCDS doesn't do that.

Ask Ricky Beam,he is the wizard who helped me and dad with our mk4,that car is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.Someday we need to open up a seat for you in our mk4 for rallycross.Since you are a vw head we could use you for our own car.

I will get the R to a Rallycross at some point.

That's only because I changed them. In order to keep costs down, the US spec Golf R came with a number of more basic components, including the "standard" Golf tail lights. They can be changed, but until you update the coding, the car thinks all of the tail lights are burned out.
