Track wheels can be washed?

I like to clean them to be sure there aren't any visible defects. Having a wheel break at 130MPH would likely suck.

Ah, I don't have that problem. Now if them breaking at 105 sucked I'd be worried.

We used the Porterfield R-4E's this weekend. They were really good, easy to modulate and they still look like new after 24 hours. We did have a lot of rain, and the R-4E's need to be up to temp (around 600 degrees) before they work right. When it was really wet and we couldn't get the brakes up to temp, they were a bit grabby.

We tried the Porterfield R-4E's when we ran a 24 hour down in Miami and we were not impressed. They performed fine, but we bought them because they were billed by other teams as lasting multiple events. They made it through 24 hours and that was it.

We heard the same story from another team at VIR this past weekend. I'm guessing that with all of the rain and our other problems this past weekend we never really put any stress on them. We'll use them at the HPDE at VIR next month and see how they look.

I'll buy the unused portion when you rid of the Mustang for another "Hans device".

HA! Already have another Hans Device, so currently rocking both the mustang and the bimmer.... I'll let you know about those pads. I'd like to do another event next year, so I may hang onto them. All I need now is a spare set of rear rotors and I should be good....
