Once again, Bret is correct. Ordered on ebay. Only really confusing part is that Ford calls it an "exhaust back pressure" tube and everyone else wants to call it an EGR tube. Thankfully someone on PowerStroke forum pointed that out. Even RockAuto calls it EGR (and I "knew" that it doesn't have an EGR ob a diesel.

They did not have the EGR until the first 6.0L.
The tube could be plugged with soot too..have you tried cleaning it?

The PCM is allowed to control the exhaust back pressure to up to oil temp/engine temp. A clogged/cracked tube will usually show a low back pressure and effect mileage and cause the PCM to interpret a Low Load condition even when heavy into the pedal. A bad sensor will cause the PCM to use a default value based on pedal position.

I little memory/looking up some old text books from my days at UTI Ford Factory School.

Thanks for t he feedback Steve.
I did try cleaning the tube....what a PITA. Forums on Powerstroke, etc suggested using brake cleaner as a soot solvent which seemed to do nothing but make a mess, and prove that nothing was going to pass the tube. It did reveal a small crack (which prompted me to order a replacement). I was able to get a speedometer cable powered by my drill motor to run through the tube's bends and clean it out. Truck seems to run much better and should be "wonderful" once the new tube arrives this week.
