Anyone know a good shop to work on a GM transmission? Guy at work needs to get some solenoid replaced and doesn't want to deal with the mess. Not sure what trans it is but I'd imagine some 4L60 variant.

Holly springs or Raleigh would be best but he doesn't seem to concerned with where the shop is since he'll just drop it off and get it later.

I think my parents had no complaints about Cottsman in Garner, but that was a Ford Focus transmission + clutch kit.

hijacking this thread for input for a 2005 honduh odyssey vav. Owner says tranny needs attention. Not sure who to recommend. Rex at Happy Japs gave me a price to replace. Looking for a few other options.

For the Odyssey you might consider here...

Ted's Automatic Transmission
8808 Running Oak Dr
Raleigh, NC 27617
(919) 881-0009

They redid the rebuild on my 2000 Odyssey (after attempted rebuild didn't work 100% as planned). I think they do a lot of Odyssey/Honda work. They are located right off Westgate out by the airport.

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

as far as our explorer 4l, our tranny went out twice. towing a race car trailer and car, our 4l v6 automatic just could not do it. even though it was the towing package. cottsman did well in raleigh. We went to them twice, ye s it blew up. But it was not their fault. The explorer automatic is not strong. Darn mazda tranny. which is why we got our f250 diesel. now, Cottsman did good work for us and the ford, try them. They are a ways off capitol blvd here in raleigh.

Why do you think they call them Exploders?
