Guys, I did make an update to this thread yesterday, but evidently it didn't "take".

So, here's the scoop. I did get a response back from LRR. They have offered up a few dates in April for us. BUT, there's a catch. They are no longer honoring the "special rate" they had been giving us, and would revert to their standard rates of $125/car, which includes 3 pulls (i.e. no $25/pull rate; if you're strapped to the dyno you pay $125 regardless).

I know this change will likely make this a non-starter for most folks, but if there is sufficient interest in using LRR specifically, I will continue to act as point of contact to get something put together. With that said, however, I want to reiterate my last post requesting recommendations for other good shops that might have a history of supporting dyno days.

Thanks!

Yeow.... Time to look for an alternative. Bye bye LLR...

I thought I heard somewhere that Turbo Time was getting a dyno?

Carolina Auto Masters still has a dyno. Seems like he charges alot less than LRR. Thats where I get all my tuning done. He's aces on GM products.
I believe the all day rate is 600$ or 16 cars which ever comes first.

Yep, CAM is a likely candidate - they've hosted us before and their pricing is relatively straight forward and reasonable.

Anybody have any experiences with Phantasm?

So would it be $37.50 per run or is it $37.50 per unique car?

The way I read it, it's $50/car, at least a couple pulls each, but potential for us, as a group, to work a pricing structure that would allow for something in the range of $25/pull if we wanted/needed and we had enough folks that wanted multiple pulls.

Jeff will charge $50 per car up to three pulls, if he has to unstrap the car, so you. can work on it it's 50 bucks, or counts as another car. I also think he figures to pull three cars per hour. Sooo get sixteen folks and divide it up. and you get a good deal.

Not since they put the hole in the floor. (and they've killed that dyno since.) I'm told they're getting a new one (dual 48" dynojet) -- a single 4' dynojet was in the Duff World Headquarters... I want to be there to see them get two of those in that hole! The only issue with Phantasm is the *cough* lack of parking.

I vote CAM. With a few more donations, we can generally cook up some lunch as well. The only issue I had was the location in Durham, but protection in numbers I guess....

I saw Jeff from CAM yesterday up at VIR. I asked him about a dyno day and he's up for it. I told him that Dustin should be calling him soon....

Dustin? You're up at bat sir...

Thanks for seeding the discussion Rodney. I'll create another post with date options soon...

charity laps at VIR for the Victory Junction camp and rode up w/ the mustang guys. Pretty interesting watching 15+ mustangs head down the road as a group. Did get to meet Kyle Petty, seems like a easy going and down to earth guy based on the conversations I heard.
