So the Integra probably has the worst ever hacked up tint job and has to go. I'm not even sure if it's over 35% either.

My question is, who's tackled this and does the fabric steamer method actually work? Here's a video that makes it look ridiculously easy to remove but my mileage often varies with projects like these.
Any tips?

It really shouldn't sound like someone's eating a bag of potato chips when the window's rolled down..

When I worked for the glass company I removed tint film form several cars. The method we used was to get under the film with a razor blade and peel the film off. Then to remove the glue left behind I kept the window wet with window cleaner while I screped the glue off with a new razor blade. With this method you would have to be very careful scraping around the defroster wires.

We allso made our own window cleaner. To make 4 gal mix 1 gal washer solvent, 1 qt amonnia, 1 or 2 oz dish soap. and fill with water.

Homemake solution of window cleaner... very interesting and that has to be more cost effective than the fancy foam sprays you see today.

Yeah, the rear defroster is definitely and area of concern that I don't want to damage/destroy as I've heard it's very easy to do.

I te-tinted the porsche and kendra's e46. Just pull off. Reeeeeeeeeeeally slowly. All the adhesive will come with it if you don't pull too fast. Even then, expect to have a couple of spots where you can't control the speed well enough. I was extra special careful on the defroster lines, but inevitably still had a few glitches that left bands of adhesive. Goo gone (NOT good off) will dissolve it, but it takes a lot of time.

Thanks for the feedback Mike. I actually noticed the tint on your bucket list for the BMW and hoped you'd chime in.

I had to remove window tint from the STi when I got it. Back window has defrost, so I couldn't use a razor blade. Peeled it off, then used RainX (and a LOT of paper towels) to remove the glue.

Just to follow up if anyone else is doing tint removal, the steamer worked awesome for $29 and if anyone needs to borrow it in the future, feel free. If you go nice and slow, there's virtually no glue left behind.
