The joys of owning more then one car is you always seem to have one broken...

Anyways i was thinking of picking one up since the miata just started throwing a cel. Whats recommended? I want to plug into my gmc or mazda and be able to read/reset codes. I know the cheaper ones can do this so why spend the higher dollars on one? If there is enoigh merrit im not opposed to spending a few more bucks but want it to be worth it.

I have an Actron cp9180. In addition to just reading and clearing codes, it can: show pending codes, data log, has realtime data display of all major sensors, 'readiness' checks, state OBD2 checks, O2 sensor efficiency check. It's proven to be well worth it's cost with the Integra and timing the inspection right after the 6th readiness check goes into 'OK' state but before the CEL for the evap leak sparks.

I asked this same question a year or so ago and this was recommended....

http://www.amazon.com/Autel-AULAL309-OB ... link+al309

Good product and has not let me down yet. Only draw back is its short connecting cable. Relatively cheap for an ODB2 scanner.
