Any suggestions on how to (cheaply) fix this rip in the back seat of a 1998 M3? Its about 2 inches on a side.

Duct tape. The silver will sort of match.

Looks like you'll need to replace just that side panel. Chip up at Atlantic Auto Exchange had given me the name of a guy in Butner, Ray Riggin. 919.594.7426. He's supposed to do nice repair work on leather. I still need to see him to repair the drivers seat on the e30. That's all I have for recommendations..

Thanks, that's just what I was looking for! Replacing a panel has got to be cheaper than replacing the entire back seat cover.

"Need" is relative since this is a daily driver. My daughter is old enough to sit in the front seat, but as she doesn't yet drive, I shuttle her and her friends around.

You mean that your daughter's friends and their parents actually will ride in something labeled "DirtBomb"?
