Anyone ever sent theirs off to get rebuilt? Contact them directly to get the recommended shop?

I know for a fact that Shaikh only works with Bilstiens. If you want something more local, Long Road Racing has a shock dyno, so they might be able to set you up with something.

I have a set of Bilsteins I had revalved by Benie Stewart of Stewart Development. I am only aware of 3 options.

1. Bilstein USA in CA, which from my reading, is hit or miss but mostly miss with the quailty of rebuild.
2. Fat Cat (Shakiah) also in CA. Everyone seems to love the service and product, but they are pricey.
3. Stewart Development located in NC. Bernie does alot of work for nascar teams and used to do some outsourced work for Shakiah. The price was reasonable, the shocks feel great and dyno plots were included. The biggest drawback is the customer service. He is slow to return shocks, and from what I understand some people never get theirs back. I had to stay on top of him with emails and phone calls almost daily. He called me during the process to appologize for the tardiness and explain he was going through some health issues. If you can poke around the forums and find out if he has improved his business practices then I would feel comfortable recommending his work. The shocks are what I requested, and the car feels great.
