Hey Guys,

Sounds crazy but the only real problem we are having with our chumpcar integra is with the alternator.

91 DA w/ B18a1

From what I can tell and research on the internet is that we possibly have a mis-matched alternator. Here is why I think that...
1. The crank pulley has 4ribs and the alt pulley only has 3
2. The "stock" belt is 30.5" and at max travel in the adjustment on the alt leaves the belt flapping loose...
3. The alt hits the block when trying to loosen it all the way

From what I can find on the internet, could have an alt. from a D16 crx.

Any thoughts? Currently thinking about adding washers to the bracket so we can use the original belt size.

How does that solve the rib issue? Getting a shorter belt would be easier...or just get the correct alternator. :)

It does't but I think the 3 rib belt would only run in the 3 ribs on the crank pulley. This is something we would have to check because that assumes they are in plane...

I'm working on sourcing a shorter belt but that is turning out to be more difficult than expected. Correcting the alternator might be the best bet but I need to pull that sob out. From the looks of it, that is not going to be easy... Well, engine is going to come out anyways so why not get started! Need to get this thing back running before the thscc cmp event!

We have an integra alt sitting on the shelf and at work and it DOES have 4 ribs on the pulley. Hope this helps.

Maybe! I'll post a few images of the one I have once I get it off.
