can anyone loan us a battery for a couple of weeks? we want to break in our backup motor using the POS "parts car" but it has a dead six year old battery and, in the spirit of lemons, we're too cheap to actually buy a new one. pretty much anything 7x10" or smaller (any height) will do. email me (jtower at gmail) or mike whitney (whit32 at gmail).

It's a miata battery, if that is small enough. I can get the exact dimensions for you tonight.

Stupid (?) question, but why can't you just jump start the POS to get it running??

That way, you don't need a "new" battery.

OR, just swap it out of the Lemons car into the POS, then put it back after the engine is broken in??

What am I missing?

Bret, it's no big deal.. Mike lives pretty close to me and I have a brand new battery that is just sitting around. I'd prefer it get used for a couple of weeks as opposed to just sitting useless in the garage.

We're diagnosing problems on a spare motor in the spare street car, so it's getting lots of drive, fix, drive, fix cycles. Lemons car is being moved around a lot too and will soon be at a different house than the spare car. That would be a lot of swapping batteries.

I have one out of a GM, that you can have. It's either a 75DT or 78 series size. Have no idea what it measures. It's left over and will get dumped off at Autozone if I ever get off my butt. Pick it up and you own it. I'll even charge it before you come get it.
