I'm thinking about selling the JDM STi Version 7 seats that I currently have and just getting a driver's side seat for the STi, due to the preference to keep the stock passenger side airbag and some complaints about the perfectly-contoured awesomeness of the JDM seat cutting off someone's leg circulation.

I'm looking for something that reclines, has very fine adjustment for seating position, is able to sit a little lower than the stock seat, and will hold me in place really well (so huge bolsters). And it needs to be black or black and blue. I'll be using it for daily driving, long trips and tarmac/gravel fun. There was a Recaro that I sat in at Auto Sport Gallery several years ago that seemed perfect, but they stopped making that one.

I would just use the JDM driver seat and store the passenger seat, but I'd rather sell the pair and get something that's even better than that seat, if possible.

Any suggestions less than or equal to about $500?

It could be a little less flat on the bottom, but it's nearly perfect on the back.

So maybe I'm just going to end up discussing this with myself, but does anybody have experience with the Recaro SRD and/or Speed? The SRD is the one I sat in years ago, but looks like it's been replaced by the Speed.

Seen any for sale used? Or know any good local places to check them out/ buy a new Speed (or equivalent seat in another brand)? I need to put another 650 miles on the STi to break in the engine, so local would be within a couple hundred miles at the moment.

Did you blow up your engine?
