The driver's seat belt latch on my Mom's 03 CRV apparently does not work. Before I try to fix this myself, is something like this covered by a longer than usual factory warranty due to it being safety equipment? Basically can I take this to the dealership and have them fix it for free. Car is otherwise out of warranty (7 years old and 150K miles)

Money can't buy happiness, but somehow it's more comfortable to cry in a Porsche than a Kia.

I'm interested too. The latch in our van feels different now than it did a year ago.

I was always told hondas had a lifetime warranty on seat belts. I excersized this once about 14 years ago on my 85 prelude. It was ~10 years old and had 250k miles on it at the time. It was fixed no questions asked.

Thanks!

I did some more Google searching and found this text that is apparently in the Warranty section of the owners manual. I need to see if the same text is in hers tomorrow...

"Seat Belt Limited Warranty - a seat belt that fails to function properly is covered for the useful life of the vehicle."

So it looks like there is a limited lifetime warranty. I am seeing evidence that as long as you didn't damage it yourself (i.e. cut up the belt) that they will fix it no charge. Not sure if other manufactures do the same or not.
