You all know VK is now trying to figure out a way to do this to the LeMons Prelude, right?

If we do another 24 hour event you can bet the number of LEDs will increase substaintially over last time. :D

I bet you could have heard his heart skip when I pulled out the LED stoplights that I got from work.

James I thought I was anal, but I think you have me beat. How many coats of paint/primer, and how many rounds of sanding do you have on these struts now?
I guess all the talk leads one to believe I've put a lot of effort into them:

1 coat rustoleum primer....took forever to dry plus I had the strut in a vice prematurely as I was cutting the strut tube up with a pipe cutter so some of the primer came off

When the above dried finally, I sanded and cleaned and applied 1 coat of Duplicolor primer....sanded and clean

3 light coats of the yellow (albeit in undesireable conditions so I'm going to sand/clean one more time and then a final 2-3 heavier coats of the yellow)

Then I'm done ;).....well assuming that I can't put strobe light LEDs on them.

This is what they looked like when I first got them (hence part of the reason I'm putting effort into painting/cleaning them up):

I find that a couple of misting coats applied 15 or so minutes before a heavier coat *seems* to make a difference as well--maybe promoting better adhesion.

I agree with this - I've done this when the first coat of paint tries to run so that you can't get it as heavy as you'd like.

Are you talking about the rectangular sticks on the shocks? They were on there when I got them. Probably a good thing I didn't remove them given all 4 of them are going back to koni.

Man o man! That really stinks about the Koni's James. So basically these are what are considered the OTS Yellows or Sports, right?

I was tinkering around with the idea of doing this same setup on the Si and have heard nothing but great stuff about Koni's and they seem to be the standard for their price points.

Now I'm not so sure and am leaning toward a set of non-adjustable Bilsteins and calling it a day.

Anybody have any good stories about their transition for 'ol stockies to their new shinny yellow Konis and first impressions? There's no end to the crazy things we do (and put up with until we get it right) to find tenths out there, right?

When KONIs work, they work really well. There's really no question about that.

Actually, you've paid for the privilege to be an alpha tester...now that's what I call dedication!

Methinks there's a spare set of Bilsteins for you, though.

Haven't had the first problem with the two sets we've bought for the mini's. The single adjustable and the double adjustable have both worked flawlessly. The fact that they're taking them back is a point in their favor, they stand behind their product. I glad to see that they do and glad I didn't have to test them on that.
